Avenue of Flags
The Optimist Club of North Liberty is offering the North Liberty community an opportunity to line the streets with American Flags on five national holidays. The Optimist Club will place a 3 x 5 nylon American Flag on a 10 foot pole in front of your home or business on these five national holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veteran's Day. The cost for this subscription is $40 a year.
What a great sight!
Volunteers will deliver the flags at dawn and retrieve them at dusk on the noted holidays. A receptacle, which remains in your yard, will be installed in front of your home or business approximately 3-8 feet from the street. It will protrude approximately 1/2 inch above the ground with a cap so as not to interfere with normal mowing. We will contact Iowa One-Call so utilities are not disturbed when placing the receptacle.
Please join our neighbors in this colorful, patriotic program. Consider subscribing in honor of a soldier or in memory of a veteran or loved one. Subscriptions also make great gifts. You can donate a subscription to someone else's home or business, just be sure to use a separate form for each address location. If you would like to have more than one flag at your home or business, you may do so by adding another subscription.
All proceeds from the Avenue of Flags will go to support the Optimist Club of North Liberty's activities and projects benefiting our local youth organizations.
